Sensory drawing encourages play based learning by getting children to: explore the possibilities of drawing on different surfaces; encourage sensory development; develop fine motor skills; and promote imaginative play and emotional expression. Children who are ready for a more guided activity to complement their sensory play will enjoy creating this abstract art piece by following the steps below!

Step 1: Divide
Divide up your artwork by taping down angled lines all the way across the Art Board using paper tape.
Step 2: Dip
Dip your chalk in the water before you start colouring inside the segments.
Step 3: Add colour
Colour in each segment with a different colour, so you can create an artwork that is as interesting and colourful as possible.
