Did you know our Colourfun Markers can be used to create watercolour paint?

You can create a colourful wall of butterflies by using our markers as watercolours!

You will need:

  • Colourfun Markers (our Marathon Markers work too!)
  • Micador Colourfun Paint Brush (round)
  • Micador Painting Paper
  • Micador Sizzle Scissors
  • early stART Paper Tape
  • Clingwrap
  • A cup of water

Step

Step 1: Get Clingy

Secure a piece of clingwrap to a flat surface using the tape. Draw or print out as many butterfly outlines as you need (one per student if creating in a group or a few for one child).
Step

Step 2: make your mark

Using your markers, colour small patches directly onto the clingwrap.
Step

Step 3: Mix it up

With your paint brush, mix a little water to a coloured patch on the clingwrap to make a small amount of paint. Transfer the paint to your butterfly template and start adding colour to the wings.
Step

Step 4: Keep mixing and layering

Mix and layer your colours to make a beautiful watercolour butterfly.
