These pencil toppers can be used in imaginative play or to create a colourful scene!

 

Colouring and constructing these butterflies are also great for enhancing scissor skills, fine motor development and hand eye co-ordination.

 

 

You will need:

  • Micador A4 drawing Paper
  • Butterfly outline (4 on an A4 page)
  • Micador Colourush Jumbo Triangle Pencils
  • early start Safety Scissors
Step

Step 1: Colour your wings!

Print an outline or draw some butterflies onto A4 drawing paper. Colour each of the butterflies a different colour.

Step 2: Set the wings free!

Cut around the edge of the outline to reveal your butterfly.
Step

Step 3: Fold and cut two incisions

Fold the butterfly in half and make two 1cm incisions using your early start scissors.
Step

Step 4: Unfold and place on top of your pencil

Unfold the butterfly and weave your pencil through the incisions.
